I'm back in Auckland, my hometown, for the annual Writers & Readers Festival. I always really enjoy this festival, though I spend much of it in a blind panic racing between events, figuring out where I'm supposed to be, and cramming in last-minute prep for the sessions I'm chairing.
This year is my fifth (maybe?) and I think I'm breaking my own record for over-commitment. My full schedule is posted on my web site.
I'm in Auckland for a few weeks doing various writing-related things, and I can make the following five predictions:
1. It will rain almost every day.
2. My friends will wait until the last week I'm here to sort out social events, and complain that I'm leaving too soon.
3. My brother, my niece and I will go to Luxury Karaoke on Queen Street and 'sing' things like 'In Da Club' and 'Hot N Cold' and 'Single Ladies.'
4. People in other time zones will email me and get impatient when I don't reply right away.
5. A lot of biscuits will be eaten.
As you can see, it's a cultural visit.
I landed on your page searching for "trendy" ideas. I read your small note about auckland writers and reader festival. I loved it :) It made me curious so i read your "About". It made me more curious and I will definetely purchase one of your books, I m not sure I can find them in Lebanon, my country, but since i m travelling to London next week, i will look for them :)
enjoy the Karaoke and the biscuits :)

I love your book RUINED and I have almost finished it, but it took me about 4 1/2 months to read the whole thing, but I still like it and I sent you a letter in the mail last month so you should get it by now and I hope you right back because I'm waiting on letters in the mail from my friends and family.

Hi - I don't sell books myself, I'm afraid. If you go to my website (www.paula-morris.com) you'll see links to booksellers under each book. You can also follow the NZ links in the righthand column of this blog under the title BUY MY BOOKS. Let me know if you're having any problems.

Having read your blog, I am actually wanting a little advise, are you actually able to sell your products at the Auckland Writers and Readers Festival, if so, how much does it cost for a stall, or is the festival just to promote your product, I am only asking as I have a similar interest to yourself ie. I am a book writer and am wanting to know how to promote my product.

Could you advise as to whether or not you are working on new books at the moment, I was totally absorbed by dark souls and ruined.
