Rooms with a View

These are views from the Signalman's House, where I'm working.

This morning's mist over the harbour has lifted. I'll take some photos later on the ferry into town: I have three radio interviews this morning by telephone and one that I have to do in person in the city. The ferry ride from Devonport to downtown takes less than fifteen minutes.

Yesterday I went for a big mind-clearing walk to Cheltenham Beach and then back over and around North Head, where the big guns point out across the harbour (a warning to the Russians in the nineteenth century, and subsequently the Japanese). The climb back up Mt Victoria nearly killed me. Extinct volcanoes are steep.
