From the Devonport ferry

This is downtown Auckland, from the Devonport ferry.

These are the apartments on Princes Wharf, where Hibiscus Coast was set:

And this is Devonport, where I'm staying - Mt Victoria to the left, North Head (where I was clambering around the other day) to the right. The second picture is just of Devonport village and Mt Victoria, and if I could do a clever arrow graphic I could point to this house.

This morning I had morning tea in town, at Superette on Drake Street with another New Zealand writer, Sarah-Kate Lynch. Then I walked back around Victoria Park to the ferry terminal, cutting through the Viaduct Basin. It was a beautiful morning, but fairly quiet down at the Viaduct. Several French speakers wandering around, probably here for the All Blacks-France test tomorrow. These pictures are all from the Viaduct.

There's literary news to post (as well as views) but first I must have a cup of tea and eat some chocolate.

Devonport looks just like Davenport, only 1000% nicer.

Davenport, IA needs volcanoes and a harbor or two, perhaps. Though you'll miss it when you move to the Upper Peninsula - you know you will!

Looks absolutely stunning. I am planning on a sailing holiday soon and this is really useful, thanks!
